Building a Cartoon Entertainment Website for Fun and Profit

Part Two — Building a Cartoon Entertainment Website (cont.)

SEO and Other Web Marketing

The above account, for the sake of brevity, is a simple and clean version of my journey. What actually happened was much messier, as I did attempt to work with a few different so-called experts while the rest was going on, people who charged me a lot of money and wasted months of my time, accomplishing practically nothing.

Finally, from the phone book listings, I did find a man who is skilled and knowledgeable at building websites for people, and has been doing so for 15 years. He is also a very knowledgeable consultant at marketing and promotion of websites, and his prices range from $35 to $75 per hour, depending on what he is asked to do, and he is so expert that he doesn’t take long at his tasks, so he is actually quite economical compared to the other people I tried. He’s hard to find because he doesn’t advertise — he told me that he stays in business by word-of-mouth. If you want to hire him to build your website — and I do highly recommend him — his name is Michael Caroff, at Caroff Communications, 16250 Ventura Blvd., Suite #418, Encino, CA 91436. Telephone (818) 784-0922. E-mail: michael@caroff.com

Michael not only built my website, and showed me how to run the day-to-day part of it, but also took care of a host of related issues, including registering for me the name of my website (its URL) on a domain site, and positioning my website with a web host so that people can connect to my website and the Google and Yahoo search engines can find it. He also embedded several key descriptive words in my website that people might type into a Google search, hoping to find a website such as mine — the results of which caused my website to move up in just a few months from obscurity to the first page of the most typical Google searches. He also registered my website with the free Google Analytics Service, so I can check anytime to see how many people have viewed my website and where they are from (among other identifying abstracts about them).

He also established a Facebook page for me and a Facebook page for Viagri, so that I can reach many people to promote my website on the internet (more about that in Part Three). He also set up my retail marketing service account with Zazzle, a manufacturing and fulfillment service (more about that in Part Four). These are all things that I knew nothing about, and so Michael’s service for me has been absolutely invaluable.
